What is MPRR?
MPRR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Milwaukee County. Powered by a dedicated team of volunteers we work tirelessly to ensure every animal receives compassionate care from the moment they arrive at the rescue - to the day they find their new furr-ever home. We are not only committed but dedicated - to giving dogs in need a fresh start—and often, a well-deserved second chance.
Every pup who comes into our rescue has their own unique story. They arrive from all walks of life—every age, size, and breed—but no matter where they come from, each one is given the love and medical care they truly deserve.
Our mission is straightforward: to guide each dog toward a permanent, loving home where they can finally enjoy the life they deserve.
Our commitment to giving these dogs a second chance runs deep, and with your help, we can continue transforming lives—one dog at a time.
Unlike standard shelters, MPRR doesn't rely on a physical facility. Instead, our pups are cared for in supportive foster homes, where they receive the individualized attention they need until the perfect home becomes available. To support the ongoing care of our pups, we host fundraisers, participate in community events and gratefully accept donations from our community.

Hey Dog Lovers... Welcome!
Hi there! My name is Carie, and I’m the Director here at MPRR. I’m truly thrilled that you’re taking the time to explore everything we have to offer.
A little about me—
I’ve been part of the veterinary world since 2001, starting out as a receptionist right here in Milwaukee County. Over the years, my role grew into assisting, marketing, social media, and eventually management, where I still proudly serve today. Seeing pet care and rescue from so many different angles has taught me one important truth: there are far more animals in need than there are hands and homes to help them. That’s a big part of why I started MPRR—to be part of the solution.
As I shift from veterinary work into the rescue world, I’m learning quickly that rescue is truly a 24/7 effort. Its success relies deeply on the dedication, compassion, and involvement of one very important group: our community.
And the best part? We have an incredible one.
I’m confident that—together—we can make a meaningful impact and change the lives of the pups who need us most. Let’s do this! 🐾
